Columbia Flute Choir performs in A Holiday Sing Along Concert with Potomac Harmony Chorus, (a chapter of Sweet Adelines, International) to benefit GoPink!DC at Thomas Jefferson Community Theatre, 125 S. Old Glebe Rd., Arlington, Virginia. The concert is free and open to the public. Donations for GoPink!DC will be accepted.

Saturday/Sunday, March 25/26, 2017, at Drew University
Columbia Flute Choir's "Heavy Metal Ensemble" will perform "Moonlight" by Alexandra Molnar-Suhajda as well as join with UpTown Flutes and accompany guest artist Peter Sheridan on works by Faure, Chopin, Gluck and Keats. The ensemble includes alto flute, bass flute, the contr'alto flute, contra bass flute and the subcontr'alto flute.

Columbia Flute Choir in Concert to benefit Hero Dogs, Inc. at Dulin United Methodist Church, 513 E. Broad Sreet, Falls Church, VA 22046. Visit http://hero-dogs.org/ for more information about this wonderful non-profit organization that raises and trains service dogs for disabled veterans at no cost to the wounded warrior. The entire concert will feature music of the award winning composer, Alexandra Molnar-Suhajda. The concert is free and open to the public. Donations for Hero-Dogs, Inc. will be accepted.

Sunday, February 22, 2015, at 2:30 pm - Mid-Atlanitc Flute Fair
Columbia Flute Choir's "Low Flute Ensemble" will perform pieces by Alexandria Molnar-Suhajda and Jonathan Cohen at the Flute Society of Washington's Mid-Atlantic Flute Fair in Room #9 at 2:30 pm at the Sheraton Reston Hotel, 11810 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA, 20191. The ensemble includes 8 alto flutes, 6 bass flutes, the contr'alto flute, 2 contra bass flutes and the subcontr'alto flute.

Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 8:30 am - NFA Convention Washington, DC
Columbia Flute Choir has been invited to play as part of the 2015 National Flute Association Convention in Washington, DC. We are excited! This will be our fourth time playing at an NFA convention (Washington, DC in 2002 and Pittsburgh, PA, in 2006, and New York City in 2009). Our performance will be in the Thurgood North/East Room of the Washington Mariott Wardman Park at 8:30 am. We will be playing two pieces by Alexandra Molnar-Suhajda and a World Premiere by Nancy Galbraith!!

Highlights of this concert will include the World Premier of a major flute choir work by Alexandra Molnar-Suhajda. Also featured will be the "Heavy Metal Ensemble" performing "Voices from the Deep" by Alexandra Molnar-Suhajda premiered at the 2010 National Flute Association Convention in Aneheim, California as well as classical favorites by Ravel and Tchiakovsky. Columbia Flute Choir has been invited to play as part of the 2009 National Flute Association Convention in New York City, New York. We are excited! This will be our third time playing at an NFA convention (Washington, DC was our first in 2002 and Pittsburgh, PA was our second in 2006). The NFA convention this year is being held at the convention center inside the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square and near the Broadway district. Look for us there!!

An excerpt from their website: "Conventioneers will relish new offerings befitting the city that never sleeps, from a Telemann-a-thon—almost six consecutive hours of every duet Telemann ever wrote for the flute—to a late-night reading of a Tallis Motet for 40 flutes. The best of the standards will return, of course, including competitions, flute choirs, performance health workshops, and concerts and recitals galore."
